2351808 - Termination Rule Incorrectly Calculating Prorated Time Account Balance

When trying to submit a termination request the amount calculated for a given Time Account Type is not calculated correctly.

SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central - Time Off

• Employee XYZ has a balance of 5 days today.
• You have a Time Account Type for PTO Accrual that is Recurring, monthly, posting 2 days per month and allowing simulation of accruals.
• Go to Employee's Profile of XYZ.
• Click Take Action and select Termination.
• Select the 10th of the following month.
• Under Time Account Balance as of Termination Date and you will see that this value still displays as 5 days.

• However since you have maintained a prorating Termination Rule in your Time Account Type that prorates the accrual in the termination period to half (if termination falls before the 14th), you expect this amount for PTO Accrual to be 6 days.
  
  

This is expected behaviour and the calculation is correct.

In the termination portlet under Time Account Balance as of Termination Date this value will only prorate amounts for periods where the accrual was already ran and posted.

Please check that for the month in which you are terminating this employee that Accrual Calendar Run was executed for PTO Accrual Time Account Type and the accrual has been posted to Employee XYZ.

The prorated result from the termination rule is only used to replace an already posted accrual - if there is no accrual posting for that month, the balance will remain the same.

Once you run this accrual for this time account type then the termination rule will trigger and prorate the amount already given out for the given period.

In our example:

1. Run the Accrual for next month.

2. Balance should be 7 days as of the 1st of the following month

3. Initiate the termination process, termination date = 10th

4. Balance in the termination portlet under Time Account Balance as of Termination Date should now display 6 days ( 5 days + 2 days accrued - 1 day prorated because the termination date falls before the threshold mark)
