Environment
SAP SuccessFactors: Employee Central
Reproducing the Issue
Steps to Reproduce (Case 1):
- Log into the Employee Central instance
- Invoke and Submit a workflow for an employee/person related change
- Proxy/log into the user who is responsible for approving the workflow
- Scroll to the bottom of the approval page
Expected Result: Send Back button appears as one of the action items
Steps to Reproduce (Case 2):
- Log into the Employee Central instance
- Invoke and Submit a workflow for an object related change such as Position
- Proxy/log into the user who is responsible for approving the workflow
- Scroll to the bottom of the approval page
Expected Result: Decline appears as one of the action items
Cause
Depending on the workflow type, the User Interface will show either Send Back or Decline.
Resolution
This is the system's current expected behavior. The logic is the following:
Non-generic object (HRIS Elements) workflows: It will always show the "Send Back" button, and it is not possible to change to "Decline".
As a workaround, the Admin can go to Manage Workflow Requests and decline the workflow from the take action dropdown.
Generic object workflows: If the Pending Data Flag is set to Yes, the "Send Back" button shows; if it is set to "No", the" Decline" button will appear instead.
