2354906 - Signal 11 in objSendString() when selecting a NULL java string - SAP ASE

Symptom

  • Selecting a null Java string causes the client to terminate with no explanation:

CT-LIBRARY error:
ct_results(): network packet layer: internal net library error: Net-Library operation terminated due to disconnect

  • The error  "Current process infected with signal 11 (SIGSEGV)" in the module 'objSendString' with a stack trace may be reported in the SAP ASE errorlog:

Current process (0x1290040) infected with signal 11 (SIGSEGV)
Address 0x0x0000000000d5a184 (objSendString+0x25), siginfo (code, address) = (1, 0x0x00000000000000a0

  • The stack trace shows the following functions:

objSendString
LeSendRow::_sendColsToClient
