2358920 - JAVA BLOB insertion: heap memory allocation fails although heap is available - SAP ASE 16.0

Symptom

  • Inserting a BLOB into a text column using a JAVA program.
  • Always getting an exception:

Exception in execute!
com.sybase.jdbc4.jdbc.SybBatchUpdateException: JZ0BE: BatchUpdateException: Error occurred while executing batch statement: There is insufficient heap memory to allocate 458 bytes. Please increase configuration parameter 'heap memory per user' or try again when there is less activity on the system.
