2359108 - Incorrect statistics when execute "update statistics with hashing"

Symptom

  • Execute update statistics with hashing / with partial_hashing and incorrect statistic can be seen in the optdiag output.

  • optdiag / sp_showoptstats may report the following errors:

    • Msg 245, Level 16, State 1: Domain error during explicit conversion of VARBINARY value '' to a FLOAT field.

    • Server Message: ASE16 - Msg 102, Level 15, State 181: Incorrect syntax near ','.
