Symptom
- SAP ASE is reporting timeslice where the value reported is greater than the 'CPU grace time' value
- As a result ASE may become unresponsive and require a reboot
- The timeslice can be reported with a wide range of funtions is 'address' line of the log
- Most commonly these are not ASE but OS and I/O related calls like 'send' , 'write' , 'xstat64' , soc_nopen (listener) but many others are possible.
- This is just one example

kernel timeslice error: spid 606 exhausted its 'time slice' of 100 milliseconds and additional 'cpu grace time' of 1500 ticks (150000 milliseconds). It has been marked for termination.

- The timeslice may show a full stack trace or, more rarely, message stop after the 'Warning' line.
