2360471 - Error: Failure of the changes has time recording DD.MM.YYYY

When changing the status of a time recording for an employee from 'Pending' to 'Approved' for a specific period, you encounter the following error:

SAP Business ByDesign

1. Go to Time Administration work center.
2. Go to Time Recording view and select Time Sheet sub-view.
3. Search for the required Employee and select it.
4. Click Open Time Sheet button.
5. Click Go To button and select the required date DD/MM/YY.
6. You can see Status of the time recording is shown as Pending.
7. Click Release button and choose Selected Week option.
8. Error Message is displayed: Failure of the changes has time recording DD.MM.YYYY.

There could be multiple reasons for this issue and one of possible cause is that the Approver is the same as the employee, when it should be the person who is responsible for the project.

This is expected system behavior.

To resolve this, update the Approver, and the Approval Task will then be sent to the appropriate manager. Once approved, the Status will automatically change accordingly.
