2360584 - Variable Pay - Business Goals Import errors "Invalid filed id lookupField" & "lookupField" must be defined

While processing an import of Business Goals you may encounter one of the two following error messages within the email notification/job details

1. "Invalid filed id lookupField(Line : 1)"
   
   
2. "lookupField" must be defined in Data Model.

The first issue can be caused by the objective plan in use being incorrectly configured or missing data.

For the second error, this is due to the customer using Employee Central however the background section in the Data Model has not been configured correctly to allow the use of Employee Central.

To correct this issue we recommend having your partner review the configuration of the problem objective plan.

Alternatively, attached to this KBA is a standard objective plan which customers may use.

If you are going to use the attached file please ensure to update the following in the file before uploading:

• Update the ID to be one which is available within your instance
• Ensure the bonus start/end date align with your Variable Pay template bonus dates

This file can only be uploaded via Provisioning> Import/Update/Export Variable Pay Objective Plan Template.

Invalid lookupField

It is necessary to modify the background section used in the Variable Pay template at Data Model level.

When integrating Variable Pay with Employee Central we need to define a way for the Business Goals File and the Eligibility Rules to be connected.

For that reason it is necessary to define a new field recordType on the background section.

This can manually be done via Provisioning by downloading the data-model.

Alternatively, you can go into Admin Center> Company Settings> Manage Business Configuration Employee Profile> Background Elements> varPayEmpHist** and add it here.

This field MUST to be associated to the field name vfld15.

This field name is reserved only for recordType.
