2364204 - Additional info about the component ST-TST and ST-OST for upgrade from Solution Manager 7.1 to 7.2 release

Symptom

It is planned to upgrade Solution Manager system from 7.1 to 7.2 release. Currently the component ST-TST 300 and/or ST-OST 100 are installed on the Solution Manager 7.1 system.

It is not possible to upgrade from 7.1 to 7.2 version before ST-OST 200 is released.

As mentioned in Note 2229953,

In case software components ST-TST, ST-QCA, or ST-SPA, are installed in your SAP Solution Manager 7.1 system an update to SP Stack 01 of SAP Solution Manager 7.2 is not possible. According to note 1109650 you have under certain conditions technically the possibility to uninstall software components ST-QCA and ST-SPA in your system on release 7.1 before the update to release 7.2 (uninstalling ST-TST is not supported). In case of such an uninstallation you would, of course, discontinue the functionality related to these software components (please see note 2194918 for functional restrictions with regard to application component SV-SMG-TWB).

In release 7.2 of SAP Solution Manager the use of these software component versions is discontinued: ST-TST 300, ST-ICO 150_700, and ST-RDS 100. The SP Stacks for release 7.2 do now contain in addition software component version ST-UI 100 which is an add-on to SAP_UI (note 2137340).

But this is not clear enough to decide whether it is possible to upgrade Solution Manager to 7.2 version with these components.
