Symptom

  • During an upgrade using the Software Update Manager, an error occurs in the phase SCAN_DOWNLOADDIR
  • An error similar to the one below can be found in the SAPupConsole.log:
*ERROR: Scanning of download directory failed with the following error: More
than one top level tag Cannot parse XML file
  • An error similar to the one below can be found in the ASKDOWNLOAD.LOG:
2 ETQ399 Found 'EPS/in' files in '/<download directory>/KH60612.SAR'.
2 ETQ399 File '/<download directory>/KH60612.SAR' determined as 'epsfiles=CSN0120061532_0087419.PAT,timestamp=20141017063450,type=ABAPPACK'.
3 ETQ122 20141020142451 (2): PID 22248 exited with status 100 
2EETQ008 Error message: Extraction command failed with status 100,
