You might want to make a specific value in a picklist the default selection. This means, the picklist will have a default value selection unless changed by the user.

In a picklist, the default selection always says "No Selection". You might want to make any of the values in the picklist a default value.

As per current product design, it is not possible to have a default value pre-selected for a picklist in any of the recruiting forms. This is considered as a product enhancement and has to be raised in the Customer Community as an enhancement request.

For cascading picklist, the system will default/auto-populate the child picklist if there is only 1 child picklist associated in the parent picklist.
