Resolution

The enhancement is called Unified Connection Pooling (UCP) that we provided for all customers in 1608 to improve the application performance dramatically.

What the UCP does is to make the most efficient usage of the database connections in a DB pool. We all know that the DB connection is one of the most important resources at run time impacting the application performance that customers perceived.

In the past, our DB pools are separated with each company. Since the application usage pattern varies from time to time and from company to company, it was always the case that some DB pools are underutilized, and some DB pools are overloaded. That's one of the very important reasons of the slowness complaining from many customers. The UCP enhancement eliminated such a boundary constraints. It put all connections into one single pool for all companies in the cluster, so that each single company is no longer constrained by its own small pool, instead it uses any connection available from a single large pool. It is a much more efficient way of using the connections that were mostly idle in the previous small and underutilized pools.
