2371757 - dsi_bulk_copy can cause SIGNAL 11 on DSI to Oracle and server crash - SRS

Symptom

  • SAP Replication Server is configured to replicate to Oracle Database
  • The option dsi_bulk_copy is set to "ON" for the Replication Server or for the DSI connection to Oracle Server.
  • The DSI connection can hit a SIGNAL 11 error and crash the Replication Server:

Thread DSI EXEC(176(1) ORACLE_SERVER.destination_db) infected with signal 11.

  • The error is reported with a stack trace that includes the following functions:

dbg_dump_stack
exc__appDumpStack
exc_terminate

This stack trace is a generic stack printed by Replication Server when SIGNAL 11 error is encountered. This trace is useless to diagnose the problem.

  • To get a complete stack trace, Replication Server is restarted with the diagnostic binary ($SYBASE/REP-15_5/bin/repserver.diag). The complete stack trace shows the following functions:

dbg_dump_stack
exc__appDumpStack
exc_terminate
