2373626 - Enable Configure Custom Navigation and grant permission

Symptom

  • How to enable the custom navigation feature?
  • How to access Configure Custom Navigation?
  • You can control visibility of a custom navigation links by selecting the permission roles and groups who should be able to view the link;

Resolution

In order to enable the Configure Custom navigation, follow the steps below. (As a customer, you don't have access to Provisioning. To complete tasks in Provisioning, contact your implementation partner or Account Executive. For any non-implementation tasks, contact Product Support.):

  1. Go to Provisioning's Company Settings.
  2. Select "Configure Custom Navigation."
  3. Save.

After that, Give both of the following permissions to an administrator permission role:

Administrator Permissions > Manage System Properties > Company System and Logo System Admin
Administrator Permissions > Manage Action Search > Manage Action Search

Note:

  • Permission Roles will grant access to the entire role. If the role is granted to multiple groups each with their own separate target population the targets will not be respected. Custom Navigation Permissions grants to the whole role and not just the defined targets.
  • Quickcard and PP3 take action should contains same custom navigation items, but pp3 take action has one more permission check in RBP:  "Update Employment Records (displayed as 'Take Action' button)". This permission needs to be assgined
