Symptom
You setup a destination in SM59 transaction to transfer the data to the connected PI system's SOAP adapter (Path prefix begins with : /XISOAPAdapter/MessageServlet ), and in the rest of the URL you specify the exact interface name and namespace (some SAP Application documentations can describe such setup which are in most of the cases designed for testing purpose). The connection test is successfull, however the actual data transfer fails and in the PI message monitoring or communication channel monitoring there are no sign of any incoming calls.
If you run XPI Inspector tracing about the sender SOAP communication channel in PI, you will see the following error in the trace:
com.sap.aii.af.service.cpa.CPAException: invalid channel (party:service:channel) = <null>
at com.sap.aii.af.mp.soap.web.MessageServlet.getChannel(MessageServlet.java:565)
at com.sap.aii.af.mp.soap.web.MessageServlet.doPost(MessageServlet.java:431)
