Symptom
- I create a report based on Studio.dbf in Crystal Reports Designer.
- I now run this report in my CR for VS application and try to update the location of the DBF file and it generates an error in database file.
- If I use a report with Saved Data I can preview it but I cannot refresh the report, it generates an error in missing database driver.
Environment
Crystal Reports for Visual Studio, VS 2010 and above
Cause
Our Product team determined the DBF file types were on their way out so the database file crdb_p2bxbse.dll was no longer being installed with any products except Crystal Reports Designer.
DBase is still actively updating and release newer versions so Product has decided to continiue supporting this native connectivety.
WARNING - There is a legacy dependency file CR still requires to work when connecting to DBF file types so as long as it is available we will support this.
As a work around if you can convert your reports to use ODBC to DBF files in the 32 bit ODBC Administrator console.
Note: There is no 64 bit version of this dll and no plans to make one, use ODBC if required.
