2380925 - Remaining Work Not Calculated for Project Task

Symptom

You notice that the Remaining work field is not updated in a Project Task for a team member after time confirmations have been recorded.

Environment

SAP Business ByDesign

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Go to the Project Management work center.
  2. Choose the Projects view.
  3. Choose the Project XYZ (XYZ represents the project ID). 
  4. Press Edit.
  5. Select the project task in question and navigate to the Work tab.
  6. Here you can see the Remaining Work not calculated for a team member. 

Cause

  • When the project is in planning, remaining work is read only and is always equal to planned work.
  • When the project is released, the remaining work becomes editable.
  • However, if you change the planned work or remaining work field after project task release the Remaining work value is no longer updated automatically. You then need to update the Remaining work manually each time there have been changes to the Actual work amount. 

Resolution

System works as expected.
