Symptom
In IE11 when in Adhoc Reports List page, next to each report where there should be a drop down icon, there are now special characters. Eg. lef (see circled below). This has only occurred since b1608 release.
Environment
All datacenters. User is using Internet Explorer 11. Post Q3 Release 2016 (1608).
Cause
The issue is caused when Internet Explorer is in "Compatibility View".
Resolution
SuccessFactors does not support Compatibility View, as per: http://help.sap.com/saphelpiis_cloud4hr/EN/SystemRequirements.pdf
The settings that can explain why IE11 is running in Compatibility View is two-fold:
1.The Compatibility View settings has enabled "Display intranet sites in Compatibility View"
2.The SuccessFactors domain (successfactors.com or successfactors.eu) has been added to the Local Intranet sites in the Security tab of Internet Options
Changing either of the above settings should resolve the issue. The recommended solution would be to change No. 2 and remove successfactors.com or successfactors.eu from the Local Intranet group.
Pictures below outline where you can view these settings in IE.
The reason this issue arose in b1608 is because the dropdown arrows, that used to be images, were changed to be icon fonts.
