2384413 - Log corruption Error 3474 reported following executing online utility - SAP ASE

Symptom

  • ONLINE utilities like REORG REBUILD/ ONLINE CREATE CLUSTERED INDEX / ONLINE SPLIT PARTITION are running on SAP ASE database systems.
  • The server was abruptly shutdown either with nowait option or by any hardware reasons.
  • During redo the page, the recovery will fail with Error 3474, in the errorlog the below will report

Error: 3474, Severity: 21, State: 1
During redo the page timestamp value is less than old timestamp from log. Page #=<pg>, page timestamp=<ts>. Log old timestamp=<ts2>.
