As per system design, item classification is determined as follows:

• If neither online completion status or default agenda is provided, the item classification is OTHER.
• If both online completion status and a default agenda are provided, the item classification is BLENDED.
• If only online completion status is provided the classification is ONLINE.
• If only default segment length is provided the item classification is INSTRUCTOR LED.

For a newly created item that has not had any data associated to it (libraries, classes, history, etc.), meaning the item was just created manually and nothing has been modified on it, the classifications can be changed without restrictions:

• To change classification of item from Other to Instructor Led, add agenda to item.
• To change classification of item from Other to Blended, add both agenda and online content to item.
• To change classification of item from Other to Online, add an online content to it.
• To change classification of item from Blended to Instructor Led, go to Actions and select Clear Online Settings.
• To change classification of item from Blended to Online, delete the agenda template.

If the item has had data associated to it (libraries, classes, history, etc.), the classification can be changed for some types

• To change classification of item from Other to ILT, add agenda to item.
• To change classification of item from Other to Blended, add both agenda and online content to item.
• To change classification of item from Other to Online, add an online content to it.
• To change classification of item from Blended to Instructor Led, or from Online to Other, the item needs to be revised and while revising ensure to uncheck: "This item has online settings. Do you wish to include the online settings in the new revision of this item?" checkbox on revise popup box. If there is need to change classification in batch, make sure the property 'item.connector.defaultValue.revision.copyOnlineSettings=N' is added to CONNECTOR configuration file.

Note: Agenda and Online Completion Status can be mass-added using the Item connector. The corresponding fields are CPNT_LEN for Agenda and CPML_STAT_ID for Online Completion Status.
