2388564 - No Special Characters Allowed (Only Alphanumeric and Underscore Allowed)

When uploading a file you receive the following message: No Special Characters Allowed (Only Alphanumeric and Underscore Allowed).

SAP Cloud for Customer Sales / Service

The message can be seen in any upload transaction in the system, for example when you are migrating accounts to a C4C Edge system:

1. Go to Settings work center.
2. Select the option Data view.
3. Click on Accounts.
4. Click on Next.
5. Select the file ABC.
6. You receive the error message:  No Special Characters Allowed (Only Alphanumeric and Underscore Allowed).

The file to be uploaded is UTF-8 encoded with a BOM (Byte Order Mark). According to the unicode standard (2.6 Encoding Schemes), the BOM for UTF-8 files is not recommended:

Please rewrite the file with a simply UTF-8 encoding (without BOM). If needed, download and use a software that is capable to convert the file to the correct encoding.
