2388662 - Error 614 on SELECT...ORDER BY run on in-memory tempdb - SAP ASE

Symptom

  • A 614 error occurs for a SELECT statement with the 'order by' clause run on an in-memory temporary database:

select top 1 * from t1 order by archive_timestamp
go

  • The error in the ASE errorlog:

Error: 614, Severity: 21, State: x
Adaptive Server accessed a row that has an illegal length of 1075 while in database 'test'. Page pointer = 0x0x2ab240c76000, pageno = 2568, status = 0x0, ptnid = 0, indexid = 0, level = 0. The minimum row length is 70. The page size is 1024.
