Symptom
When saving empty planning data in Analysis for Office, the user is expecting to save the value "0" (zero).
Analysis for Office is not saving the empty cell and the old value is being retrieved.
Environment
SAP BusinessObjects Analysis, edition for Microsoft Office
Reproducing the Issue
- Enter empty planning data (or delete existing data) in an input-ready query in Analysis for Office;
- Save/recalculate the planning data;
- Note that the old data is retrieved instead of value 0 (zero) which is expected by the user.
Cause
This is the default behavior in Analysis for Office 2.3 SP2 and higher versions.
In AO 2.3 SP1 and lower versions, the behavior is different and the value 0 (zero) is saved when saving an empty planning data.
This behavior is controlled by a setting in Analysis for Office and can be changed if necessary (as described in "Resolution").
Resolution
The behavior is controlled by the setting SetEmptiedDoubleDataCellsToValue0 in Analysis for Office. See SAP note 2083067 for details about how to maintain settings for Analysis Office 2.x.
How the setting is defined | What is the behavior |
<SetEmptiedDoubleDataCellsToValue0 /> or <SetEmptiedDoubleDataCellsToValue0 value="False" /> |
Empty cells are not saved as 0 (zero). The old value remains. |
<SetEmptiedDoubleDataCellsToValue0 value="True" /> | Empty cells are saved as 0 (zero). |
