Reproducing the Issue

  1. Access Domain Restrictions (System Administration > Security > Domain Restrictions) >
  2. Search for the ID to be removed, click the edit icon >
  3. Click the delete button >
  4. Validation error occurs.

Cause

Either the domain restriction is still assigned to domains or it is still assigned to a role.

Resolution

Remove all associated domains:

  1. Access Domain Restrictions (System Administration > Security > Security Domains Groups) >
  2. Search and edit the security domain to be deleted >
  3. Click the Security Domains tab >
  4. Click select all and apply changes to remove the security domain ID from those domains.

If the validation error still occurs after removing domains, then check for associated roles.

  1. Access Export Data tool (System Administration > System Managements Tools) >
  2. Select Admin Role from the dropdown menu. Click Next >
  3. Search and select all roles. Click Add. Click Next >
  4. Run or schedule the job >
  5. Click Continue Exporting Data button >
  6. The export report will show in the Export Data page > Download the results >
  7. Excel will open, filter on the domain restriction ID to be deleted >
  8. Once the roles associated to the domain restriction ID are found, edit the roles and remove the domain restriction IDs.
    1. To remove the domain restrictions from the roles (System Admin > Security > Role Management > search and edit role), check the Domain Restriction ID on the Entity Restr., Function Restr. and Permission restrictions tabs of the role and delete the domain restriction ID.
    2. Apply Changes.
