2391221 - Warning message when accessing Lineage Chart for vacant positions

When accessing the Lineage Chart page through Succession Org Chart, for a vacant position (TBH) the warning message is displayed: "You cannot access Lineage Chart if the position does not have an incumbent.", working only for positions occupied by an incumbent.

1. Go to Succession Org Chart;
2. Access the Org Chart of a position with an incumbent;
3. In the Position Card, access the dropdown menu and click "View Lineage Chart":

4. The Lineage Chart page is displayed successfully:

5. Access the Org Chart of a vacant position (TBH);
6. In the Position Card, the option "View Lineage Chart" is available in the dropdown menu:

7. Click "View Lineage Chart" for the vacant position, and the warning message "You cannot access Lineage Chart if the position does not have an incumbent." is displayed:

Lineage Chart does not support the display of vacant positions (To Be Hired - TBH), as the system uses the userID of the incumbent to render the root node.

Although, this is the expected behavior of the system, Engineering Team is working on a product enhancement to remove the option "View Lineage Chart" in the Position menu, when accessing vacant positions in Succession Org Chart (SCM-7752).

However, we do not have yet an estimated time to deliver this enhancement. Any updates on the progress and roadmap of this code enhancement will be communicated in this article and in the product release notes.
