Symptom
In the Compensation Information portlet, you can now hide the Pay Targets subsection.
Image/data in this KBA is from SAP internal systems, sample data, or demo systems. Any resemblance to real data is purely coincidental.
Environment
SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central
Resolution
- In the Compensation Information portlet, you can now hide the Pay Targets subsection.
- There is a new permission setting for this, in which View and Edit permissions can be granted to the relevant users.
- If a user doesn’t have permissions for this, then the whole subsection is not visible on the UI.
Use Cases:
1st Case:
- If customer does not use Pay Targets at all. Visibility of the Pay Target section header is useless and is confusing for users.
2nd Case:
- If customer use Pay Targets but wants to restrict their visibility. Dependent on the user type (Manager, Admins and Employees) the Pay Target section should be visible, editable or not visible at all.
- The option to restrict the Pay Target via RBP would offer great flexibility to the customer.
- The group “Employee Data” has two possibilities of permission settings: View and Edit. The permission should be between LOA and Spot Bonus. For Pay Targets there will be a new row. You can choose edit or only view permission.
- If the permission group do not have permission at all for the Pay Targets the section should not be visible at all.
Permission Section:
Employee Data > HR Information > Pay Target
Level of detailed permission:
- View
- Edit
If no permission is selected the section should completely disappear for the permission group:
What the Pay Target Permission looks like in Compensation Info:
- In case the user has only permission to view the Pay Targets, the edit link should disappear.
- If the user has permission to edit the full permission given for all Pay Targets that are allowed for the user to see.
- In case the user has no permission for Pay Targets:
Note: As the add new Employee Wizard does not respect RBP, there is currently no way to hide this portlet in the Add New Employee Wizard.
