2393565 - Short Dump with UCS2 (LE) data/host type errors

Symptom

You notice ABAP dumps with category "ABAP Programming Error", runtime error: UNCAUGHT_EXCEPTION and exception CX_SQL_EXCEPTION in your system. The error messages are similar to one of the following:

  • Invalid host type (UCS2 (LE)) for parameter (1)
  • Conversion not supported for parameter/column (3), source type UCS2 (LE) and target type BSTRING

You also notice Database Errors code -10404 and -10301 in the System Log transaction (SM21) and in the respective developer trace file:

  • sql error -10404
  • sql error -10301
