Environment

SAP SuccessFactors Succession & Development

Cause

This can happen if you are using the option “Hide succession nomination history entries prior to this date (leave blank to show all entries)” from Admin Center > Nominations Set Up, and the successors were added before the date used by this setting.

Resolution

It is possible to hide succession nomination history entries prior to a certain date from the Nomination History dialog in the Succession Org Chart by following the below steps:

  1. Go to Admin Center > Succession > Nominations Set Up.
  2. Input a date for the setting “Hide succession nomination history entries prior to this date (leave blank to show all entries)”.
  3. Save.

For more information on this feature, refer to Wiki Page Succession Management - Admin Center - Nominations Set Up page.

After applying this setting, all historical nomination data that displays in the Nomination History dialog in the Succession Org Chart will be subject to the condition that, if it was entered/modified before the defined date, the historical entry will not be displayed.

If you are seeing the message “No current and past nominees”, even though there are active successors in the position, try adjusting the date from this setting, so it is before the date when the successors were added. Tip: Leave the date blank to be able to review the Nomination History dialog and understand when the successors were added.

For example, Succession Admin’s position has four successors. Two of them (Brooke Brown and Succession Admin) were nominated on November 23rd and the other two (Erin Eisley and Felicia Ford) were nominated on November 25th. As I configured the historical nomination data prior to November 24th to be hidden, the first two successors do not appear in the “Then” node, even if I select a date after the restriction:

The same restriction applies to the “Change Log” restriction, where only changes made after the defined date are displayed:

Note: if users nominated to a position do not have; first name, middle name or last name defined in the system (See Employee Profile) then you will not be able to see the nomination history and may receive an application error.
