2396577 - Cannot Add Hadoop Objects As HANA Virtual Tables


Supported version of Spark Controller is configured correctly for Smart Data Access remote source with "SPARK SQL" as adapter type, HIVE or HANA Vora is used as remote datasource. When adding tables from this remote source to HANA, the operation failed with error:

"SAP DBTech JDBC: [476]: invalid remote object name: Unable to retrieve remote metadata for <NULL>.<NULL>.SparkSQL.<remote_source_name>.<table_name>: line 0 col 0 (at pos0)"


HANA indexserver trace shows error:

e FedTrace         SparkSQLAccess.cpp(03047) : SparkSQLAccess::GetColumnInfo: failed with error: java.lang.NullPointerException
    at org.apache.spark.sql.hive.hana.HanaSQLContext.getTableMetaNew(HanaSQLContext.scala:347)

Spark Controller log shows similar error:
