2396706 - Person ID Assignment for New Dependents

Can the Person ID of an Employee and the Person ID of the Dependent overlap?

If you create a new dependent via UI and it creates the ID from it. What sequence does it follow?

If you are adding a dependent from UI(ESS page), system will automatically generate a random string for person-id-external of the dependent, and it does not interfere with the sequence we have for the employee id generation.

• It is not possible for a dependent person ID to overlap with Employee Person ID unless a 'Dependent import' has been done inputting person ID which would overlap with Employee's Person ID.
• Hence, please make sure that while importing the Dependents details, you do not input a 'Person ID external' which would interfere with any other employee's person ID and also make sure that you are following a different sequence for Employee IDs and Dependent IDs.
