2398302 - Picture and Background Image People Profile

• Not able to save/edit picture or background image in People Profile.
• Background picture is not showing correctly.
• Distortion issue with Profile picture.
• How to edit the profile picture? 
• How to edit the background image?
• Profile Picture size smaller compared to the preview view.
• The Background Image is stretched when applied to Header.

SAP SuccessFactors Employee Profile 

1. Go to Employee People Profile
2. Header
3. Edit Profile Picture or Edit Background Image
4. Upload a New Picture or Upload a New Image
5. Save
6. See the error.

• The issue is due to different behavior of photo uploaded between Employee profile V12 and People Profile PP3.

• When you are unable to zoom and save changes, sometimes can be an Application error, so you should open an incident to LOD-SF-EP. 
• To edit the Profile Picture, go to Employee People Profile > Header > Edit Profile Picture > Upload a New Picture > Save > See the error. 

• If your Profile Picture size smaller compared to the preview view, you need to upload a new image using the correcly size specifications. It's a zoom issue. Recommend aspect ratio is 3:4 (w:h - width x height) and recommend minimum size is 180*240.  

• To edit the Background Image, go to Employee People Profile > Header > Edit Background Image > Upload an Image > Save. 

• If the Background image is streched when applied to header, make sure the image is 2MB maximum while uploading the background image and the dimensions of the image match the specifications of 980 (px) x 580 (px). If your image is bigger then this specifications, the image should have an pixelated and stretched appearance. We can't solve it, because it's an expected behavior from the system.

Note: 

When user upload a profile / background photo, the photo will be transformed from png to jpeg, and the quality will be compressed. The transforming and compressing will happen to every photo which has been uploaded.

So if customer upload a jpg file, the transforming step will be skipped but the compressing will still happen. The purpose is to reduce the storage space of photo and shorten the response time. The transforming and compressing are legacy behavior.
