Symptom
Is it possible to determine which saved query is being used in a Report Designer table or chart component?
Environment
SAP SuccessFactors Online Report Designer
Resolution
Once a query is selected for a pivot table, the table receives its own separate copy of the query which can be edited independently of the saved query. Therefore the saved query does not remain linked to the table, and unfortunately it is impossible to determine by a direct trace which query was selected.
To obtain the original query for other uses, there are three options.
1. Copy the table, and try likely-looking saved queries in place of the real one to see whether they produce the same results.
2. Copy the table and paste it into other report pages, and edit as necessary for other purposes.
3. Recreate the query from scratch and save it as an independent query. Having the original query open in another window or tab can be very helpful during this process.
Note that even if you were able to find which saved query had been used, there is no guarantee the query in the report has not been edited since that point.
We apologise for the inconvenience.
