2399822 - Blank Portal screen after upgrade due to exception: The specified device does not exist.


  • After a NetWeaver upgrade you can no longer access the Enterprise Portal and only receive a blank screen
  • Checking the server default trace log files you observe an error similar to the below where the .theming file cannot be accessed:
    "Didn't succeed to read file : /usr/sap/<SID>/<Inst. No>/j2ee/cluster/apps/
    [EXCEPTION] The specified device does not exist.

  • Enterprise Portal with LESS mode enabled
