2404366 - Competency can't be rated by employee (rating box is not showing)

• Competency section is the most widely used section in the PM template and there are lots of options/switches provided to customize the section.
• This KBA is focusing on one particular case that cause the competency can't be rated by the subject user. However, under other circumstance, same symptom could be observed as well, need to check them case by case.
• Here is the issue we would see in the competency section as shown in the screenshots below, the competency section is configured as "custom" type which means both use-jobcode and use-core-comp are configured as " false". And also we didn't add any permission for subject-item-rating in the XML layer.
• Based on the screenshot, we could see that Employee can't see the rating box in the form even though this form is routed to the employee and there is no any restriction on the subject-item-rating that control the permission for subject's rating.

SAP Successfactors Performance Management

1. Log into the system and go to Performance Management Module.
2. Choose the target the form in the Inbox
3. Go to Competency section and found that rating box is not showing to the subject user.

• This very special case only happened in the hardcoded competency so far,  we found that root cause is related to cmt-opt.
• In this case, rating-opt is configured as "1" - display rating next to subject's comment and cmt-opt is configured as "3" - Show no item and section comments.
• And this particular combination will cause this issue due to rating-opt is depended on the comment, and configuration of cmt-opt indicate that there will be no comment for the item.

To resolve the issue, just need to configure the cmt-opt as "2"- Show only item comments, no section comments. It will let subject user see the comment and rating box as follow.

*Please note that this issue is only happened in hardcoded competency, it will not occur if we use job code to generate the competency.
