Symptom

Searching via People Search with User ID yields no results

Environment

  • SAP SuccessFactors HCM Suite
  • SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central

Cause

This behavior appears when the Employee Central is not enabled for that instance.

Resolution

  • Searching while utilizing user_sys_id in the global search field is unsupported
  • "PersonExternalId" is only supported when Employee Central is enabled for that instance
  • UserID Search will only function if "personExternalId" is set as the same value of user_sys_id, then we can say user_id is supported
