2405151 - Difference in Percentage of Completion for Projects with Services

A project of type Project Sales (Fixed Price) is created with accrual method Recognize at completed Contract. The calculated Percentage of Completion (PoC) differs from the expected because services are not considered in the Revenue Recognition Run.

1. Go to Cost and Revenue work center.
2. Select  Project XYZ.
3. Click Edit Percentage of Completion.
4. Check the Calculated POC column.

The calculated Percentage of Completion (PoC) differs from the expected Percentage of Completion (PoC).

1. Go to subview Periodic Tasks - Revenue Recognition.
2. Select the Revenue Recognition Run for the respective Period.
3. Navigate to Processed Successfully - Advanced Information.
4. Calculate Incurred Costs/Planned Costs.

The percentage differs from the expected result. The Revenue Recognition Run is expected to include the provided services, but these services are not listed or included in the calculation.

A Revenue Recognition Run includes only revenues with status Finished, Completed, or Stopped.

For services, this also depends on the Posting Date of the Revenue Recognition Run, and the Provision Date of the Time Confirmations.

1. Go to Cost and Revenue work center.
2. Go to Projects sub view.
3. Select Project XYZ and click View All.
4. Navigate to Work tab.
5. Click Display Time Confirmations.
6. Check the Provision Date.

Please check the Provision Date and verify whether the Completed checkbox is marked.

1. Go to Periodic Tasks view - Revenue Recognition sub view.
2. Select the Revenue Recognition Run for the respective Period.
3. Navigate to Postings tab.
4. Check the Posting Date.

If the Provision Date of the service is after the Posting Date of the Revenue Recognition Run, the system will not consider the service as it is not yet Finished, Completed, or Stopped. The check box Completed is not marked.
Run the Revenue Recognition Run with a Posting Date after the Provision Date so the service is included in the Percentage of Completion (PoC) calculation.
