Symptom
How does the SAP Jam Lightbox Feature work?
Environment
SAP Jam Collaboration
Resolution
-
The lightbox is a user-interface mechanism that helps a user open a piece of content (eg. wiki, blog, document) in a simulated “pop-up”, then close it quickly to continue without losing the previous context, such as viewing the overview page and browsing the Jam feeds.
-
Jam opens most content in a lightbox when user clicks on the content on the overview page or in the feeds.
-
Exceptions are questions, ideas, discussions, tasks, events, polls, videos, and business records, which always open with a full page refresh without the lightbox.
-
The lightbox behavior is determined by Jam automatically, and not configurable by the admin or the end-user.
Note: The behavior can't be controlled by forcefully including or excluding the “?lightbox=true” in the URL. Jam decides which context the lightbox applies.
