2407791 - Matrix Grid section (Performance & Potential and Competency & Objective) - Talent Card


This article describes the Matrix Grid Report sections (Performance-Potential and Competency & Objective) of the Talent Card.

  • The Talent Card, available on Succession Org Chart, Presentations, v12 Matrix Grid Reports and Calibration, includes two sections allowing you to visualize data from the Performance & Potential and Competency & Objective Matrix Grid Reports.
  • In this section, notice the current Matrix Grid Placement (Latest Rating) and the Trend History information (which used to be a separated pop-up in the v11 Matrix Grid Report) for a given employee:

  • More information on the ratings, such as source, start and end dates, rating on the original rating scale, are displayed if you mouse over the ratings in the graph:


How to configure this section in the Talent Card?

  1. Go to Admin Center > Manage Talent Card > Select which Talent Card you want to configure.
  2. Click “+Add a Section” > select “Performance & Potential” or “Competency & Objective” > click “Add”.

    Note: When adding the section, you will also be able to configure the source of ratings. More information about this configuration can be found below.
  3. Save.

Is it possible to control what ratings will be displayed in this section?

Yes, it is possible to configure both the Latest Rating and the Trend section to follow either the process of ratings defined in the Employee Profile or the process of ratings used by the corresponding Matrix Grid Report. To configure this, you can follow the below steps:

  1. Go to Admin Center > Employee Files > Manage Talent Card.
  2. Select the configuration of the Talent Card for one of the modules: Succession, Presentations or Calibration.
  3. Click "Edit" for the section "Performance & Potential" or "Competency & Objective".
  4. Select whether to use  Succession Planning Matrix Grid admin configuration. A detailed description on each option can be found below.
  5. Save:


Employee Profile Rating configuration

  • If you select the Employee Profile Rating Configuration, this section of the Talent Card will retrieve ratings from the Talent Ratings Source configured for the Employee Profile.
  • You can configure this by following the below steps:
  1. Go to Admin Center > Employee Files > Configure Employee Files or Configure People Profile, depending on your Profile version;
  2. Under “Rating Sources for Scorecards” (v12) or “General Settings > Talent Data Settings” (PP3), you can select:
    • Process: defines the source of the ratings that will be displayed in the section. Processes can be defined in Admin Center > Reporting and Analytics > Processes and Forms;
    • Date Range: only ratings within the defined date range are displayed in the section;
    • Include in-progress forms: if this is enabled, ratings from in-progress forms are displayed in the section.
  3. Save changes.

Succession Planning Matrix Grid admin configuration

  • If you select the Matrix Grid rating configuration, this section of the Talent Card will retrieve ratings from the same process configured for each axis of the respective Matrix Grid Report.
  • When you select this option, you'll also be able to select a date range based on which the section will retrieve ratings.
