2409103 - Project Time Recordings Submitted by Project Manager are not Going for Approval

Symptom

Any time recordings submitted by a person is restricted to self-approve and so is sent for approval of project manager, however when Project Manager himself is doing time recordings it does not go for approval.

Environment

SAP Business ByDesign

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Go to the Business Configuration work center.
  2. Go to the Implementation Projects view.
  3. Click Edit Project Scope.
  4. Go to step Questions.
  5. Navigate to Human Resources element and expand it.
  6. Go to Time and Labor Management element and expand it.
  7. Select Approvals element and go to Questions appearing towards your right.
  8. You will see the below question is already checked:

Would you like to restrict users from self-approval of time recordings in the solution? *

Cause

The above scoping question holds good for all users except the Project manager of their project.

Resolution

There is a backend business configuration option that will allow the project time recording to go to his line manager for approval, in the cases where the project manager does time recording against their own project.

Currently we only have option to send  to Reporting line unit manager.

Check in Business Configuration - Implementation Projects - Step 4 ,Questions to see if the option is already available, click on Human Resources - Time and Labor Management - Approval and search for the question "Would you like to prevent automatic approval of project/task manager’s time recordings on their projects/tasks, and set their RLU manager as approver?" under Group: Self Approval for Time Recordings.

If the scoping question is not available, kindly forward the incident to  us
