2409397 - When an Instructor adds a User to a past Scheduled Offering via 'My Classes', the system sends out notifications to the User

  • When an Instructor adds a User to a Scheduled Offering via My Classes > Past Classes that occurred in the past in order to give completion credit, the system sends out notifications to the Users
  • There are no options to suppress the notification when assigning the class this way

  • SAP SuccessFactors
  • Learning Management System (LMS)

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Login as an Instructor that has Scheduled Offerings that were completed in the past
  2. Navigate to My Classes tab
  3. Click "Past Classes"
  4. Select any SO that occurred in the past
  5. Click "Users" then "Add Users"
    1. AddUser.png
  6. Add a User to the class
  7. A notification is sent to the User, depending on the settings the notification may include a calendar invite in the past

  • The intent of the application is that the Instructor can manage classes when they occur
  • It wasn't intended to manage classes that occurred in the past, so there are no options to suppress notifications

  • The product is working as intended
  • An Enhancement has been created to be considered for implementation in a future release (LRN-15969)
  • There is no ETA on when this enhancement will be implemented

  1. Add the users to Scheduled Offerings via the Administrator interface
  2. Select the options to suppress the notifications by unchecking the boxes in the "Email confirmations to:" section
    1. AddUser.png
  3. Instructors can then mark the completions as needed from the "My Classes" tab
