Symptom
- When an Instructor adds a User to a Scheduled Offering via My Classes > Past Classes that occurred in the past in order to give completion credit, the system sends out notifications to the Users
- There are no options to suppress the notification when assigning the class this way
Environment
- SAP SuccessFactors
- Learning Management System (LMS)
Reproducing the Issue
- Login as an Instructor that has Scheduled Offerings that were completed in the past
- Navigate to My Classes tab
- Click "Past Classes"
- Select any SO that occurred in the past
- Click "Users" then "Add Users"
- Add a User to the class
- A notification is sent to the User, depending on the settings the notification may include a calendar invite in the past
Cause
- The intent of the application is that the Instructor can manage classes when they occur
- It wasn't intended to manage classes that occurred in the past, so there are no options to suppress notifications
Resolution
- The product is working as intended
- An Enhancement has been created to be considered for implementation in a future release (LRN-15969)
- There is no ETA on when this enhancement will be implemented
Workaround:
- Add the users to Scheduled Offerings via the Administrator interface
- Select the options to suppress the notifications by unchecking the boxes in the "Email confirmations to:" section
- Instructors can then mark the completions as needed from the "My Classes" tab
