2412533 - 502, Bad Request, Timeout Proxy errors when leveraging Apache Reverse proxy in SAP Analytics Cloud for accessing data on external internet

You can't create a connection to Live Data and receive the error (#502) Proxy Error.

• The server received an invalid response from an upstream server. The proxy server could not handle the request. /YOURHANASERVER/sap/bc/ina/service/v2/GetResponse

 Apache logs show the following lines:

• (OS 10060)A connection attempt failed because the connected party did not properly respond after a period of time, or established connection failed because connected host has failed to respond.  : [client IP_ADDRESS:PORT]
• AH01102: error reading status line from remote server HANASERVER:PORT
• AH00898: Error reading from remote server returned by /MYAHANA/sap/bc/ina/service/v2/GetResponse

• SAP Analytics Cloud
• Apache server as reverse proxy

The connection between the Apache server and the HANA server takes too long to complete and Apache closes it because it has set a low timeout.

Please be aware of that Path connectivity option is deprecated in SAP Analytics Cloud: https://www.sapanalytics.cloud/resources-direct-cors-live-data-connections/

To fix the above issue increase Apache's ProxyTimeout directive (below example set for 10 minutes):

• ProxyTimeout 600
