Symptom

Using Manager Promotion Map feature under Salary Ranges in Action for All Plans.

Resolution

This feature is used in templates that are not integrated with Employee Central. Using this map you can specify based on the current pay grade which new ones can be selected when this type of promotion functionality is configured in compensation plan template, having includeJobSelector set to false in the xml.

With that configuration, the standard field Final Pay Grade will be selectable.

Configuration required:

  1. Go to Compensation Home
  2. Open the template the changes will be applied to
  3. Go to Design worksheet and make sure Pay Grade and Final Pay Grade standard fields are added
  4. Then go to Advanced Settings and download the XML
  5. Search for includeJobSelector and make sure it is equal to false
  6. Then find finPayGrade and make sure readOnly is also false
  7. If they were not false, importing the xml after the change is required.


In Action for All Plans:

  1. Salary Plans dropdown
  2. Salary Ranges 
  3. Choose a range table and scroll down to find Manager Promotion Map
  4. Export the file
  5. Add values for "From Pay Grade" and "To Pay Grade", where "from" will be the employee's current grade and "to" will be the options available to promote.
