2413636 - Requested array size exceeds VM limit when creating new Lumira data set via Hive (Apache Hadoop)

Symptom

  • After adding the user/password and server:(port) info, I get an error message saying: "requested array size exceeds VM limit (failed to allocate 1414811712 bytes) (array length 1414811695)"

Environment

  • SAP Lumira
  • Apache Hadoop

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Start Lumira
  2. Create a new data set via "Query with SQL" using "Apache Hadoop Hive 0.13 Simba JDBC4 HiveServe2" driver.
  3. Enter the user/password and server:(port) info

Cause

Incorrect Port Number (Default is 10000)

Resolution

Get correct Port number from Hive Server2 properties. These properties are located in configuration panel example in Ambari/Cloudera manager.
