Symptom

  • ASE upgraded from SP135 HF1 to SP138.
  • ASE fails to shutdown after upgrade
  • sp_version still shows older version

  • Post upgrade fails with following error located in file updatease.out:

Adaptive Server message: 'Message number: 962, Severity 14, State 1, Line 0
Message String: Database with ID 'XX' is not available.
