Symptom
Standard Dashboard Chart, Standard Tile, and custom tile created with Tile Builder display fewer results than expected. When an Ad Hoc report with the same definitions (i.e. People scope, filters, domain) is run, the output shows the expected number of records.
Environment
- SAP SuccessFactors HCM Suite
- Dashboards and Tiles
- Ad Hoc reporting
Cause
It is likely that the target population of the role that grants permission to Analytics Tiles and Dashboards may be different from the target population of the role that grants Run Ad Hoc permission.
For example, the role associated to Run Ad-Hoc is Admin1, which has a target population of All Employees. Ad Hoc result for Other Filters will include all employees.
The role associated to Analytics Tile and Dashboards is Admin2, which has a target population of All HR Reports. Dashboard result for Other Filters may only include the user's HR Reports.
Resolution
If the roles that grant Run Ad-Hoc Report Permissions and Analytics Tiles and Dashboards Reports Permission are different, check the target population of the role associated with or that grants the dashboard permission to the user. It may have a smaller target population than the Ad Hoc one, resulting in limited results for the tile.
There are some changes that you can perform so the result can be the same:
- Modify RBP target population accordingly;
- Assign the appropriate role to the user or;
- Grant the role with the right target population for Dashboards 2.0 access.
