2419119 - Error: "Failed to save compensation data" when publishing to Employee Central - Compensation

Symptom

Publishing fails for some users when publishing compensation data to Employee Central with "Failed to save compensation data" as error message.

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Complete the forms
  2. Go to Complete Compensation Cycle
  3. Publish the worksheets
  4. Error message:
    failed to save compensation data

Cause

The error occurs in the “Used for Comp Planning” field within the Pay Components which are trying to be published. More than one Pay Component mapped in the XML has been configured with the value “Comp” or “Both.”

Resolution

Only one Pay Component can be assigned this value; otherwise, publishing from Compensation to Employee Central will result in errors. You can verify this by navigating to Admin Center → Employee Files → Manage Organization, Pay and Job Structures.
