2419744 - Open Client: "There is a tds state machine error. An illegal tds token sequence was received" when connecting to ASE with assigned default database user - SDK for SAP ASE

Symptom

  • When attempting to connect to ASE with a user that was assigned a default database, the user is not a valid user in the database.
  • Login attempt will send a TDS_EED to the client, followed by TDS_MSG+PARAMS with the server's public key and then a TDS_DONE(MORE+ERROR). This results in a TDS state machine error in CT-Library:
    • ct_connect(): protocol specific layer: internal Client Library error: There is a tds state machine error. An illegal tds token sequence was received.
