Symptom
The Historical Matrix Placement portlet is available to add via Configure People Profile page, however it will not display on the People Profile nor is it available to select under "Employee Data" in Role Based Permissions.
Image/data in this KBA is from SAP internal systems, sample data, or demo systems. Any resemblance to real data is purely coincidental.
Environment
SAP SuccessFactors Succession and Development
Reproducing the Issue
- Admin Center
- Configure People Profile
- Drag Performance-Potential Matrix Historical Matrix Grid Placement Trend to add portlet
- Performance-Potential Matrix Placement portlet is added and shows in Scorecard view, as below:
- Go to any role via Manage Permission Roles and click on Employee Data
- Historical Matrix Placement doesn't show under Employee Data due to which you won't be able to give visibility permission and hence this portlet won't show in the Employee Profile
Cause
The Historical Matrix Placement portlet is a standard portlet and is always available in the standard list of available portlets under Configure Employee Profile. It will show as available even though the necessary xml configuration is not done in the Data Model XML. The XML configuration is needed for all standard portlets such as the Performance-Potential Historical Matrix Placement portlet, How vs What matrix placement portlet, Successor, Nomination, Performance History, and Development Objective so they can become available in RBP.
Resolution
- Customers should engage their Implementation Partner to configure Historical Matrix Placement portlet in data model xml.
- Once configured in the Data Model, the same will show in RBP and in Employee Profile.
Configuration:
<background-element id="matrix1placement" type-id="133">
<label>Historical Matix Grid Placement Portlet</label>
</background-element>
After adding above xml code the Historical Matix Grid Placement Portlet will be under Employee Data in Role-Based permissions.
