2421650 - Error Message : XYZ must be assigned to logistics area with default supply and output area

Symptom

When you assign Logistics Area to a Resource ID directly, system throws below error:

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Go to the Supply Chain Design Master Data Workcenter.
  2. Go to Resources View.
  3. Show All Resources By Selection using drop down and find required Resource ID.
  4. Choose Go.
  5. Select and Edit the Resource ID.
  6. Under General tab, go to section: Resource Location Data.
  7. In the field Logistics Area, enter the required ID as ABC using value selection.
  8. Here system throws above erorr messsage.

Cause

To assign any Logistics Area to a Resource, it must have Fixed Supply Area and Fixed Output Area maintained. You have to assign Fixed Supply Area and Fixed Output Area to a Logistics Area under Site Layout.

Resolution

  1. Go to the Supply Chain Design Master Data Workcenter.
  2. Go to Locations View.
  3. In the field Show, choose All Locations using drop-down and find required Site ID.
  4. Select and Edit it, choose Edit Layout.
  5. Find required Logistics Area ID: ABC from hierarchy.
  6. Select and navigate to Resources tab.
  7. Here maintain Fixed Supply Area and Fixed Output Area.
  8. Perform Save.
  9. Now you can assign this Logistics Area: ABC to a Resource ID : XYZ directly.
