2422617 - BEX query ending with SQL error 30046 and SQL error 325 - SAP ASE for BW

Symptom

  • Error SQL 30046 is returned when executing a BEX query :

What happened?

 Error Text of the Database: "[ASE Error SQL30046:08S01][SAP][ASE ODBC 
 Driver]Connection to the server has been lost. Connection died while reading 
 from socket. ERRNO returned 0. Check the server to determine the status of any 
 open transactions."

  • When checking SM21, error message SQL325 is also reported, and when checking the developer trace file along we can see the complete offending SQL code followed by these messages:

C [ASE Error SQL325][SAP][ASE ODBC Driver][Adaptive Server Enterprise]Adaptive Server finds no legal query plan for this statement. If an Abstract Plan is forcing the query plan, check its correspondence to the query. If not, please contact SAP Technical Support.
